My music career began in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. I was a member of the Victoria Symphony and taught at the Victoria Conservatory of Music for three years. On return to the United States I studied with the legendary concert violinist Camilla Wicks at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Summer music festivals allowed me to also study with the famous teachers Joseph Gingold , and Ruggiero Ricci.
I have been a member of the San Jose Symphony, and Sacramento Symphony. I currently play with the California Symphony, celebrating my 24th year of membership. Summer Festivals have included the Carmel Bach Festival and Bear Valley Music Festival. I now play in the Mendocino Music Festival.
My passion for world music led me to study Indian violin at the Ali Akbar College of Music with Ali Akbar Khan. Following that I studied and performed concerts with world music composer David Hykes. The legendary violinist Lord Yehudi Menuhin said, "David Hykes has opened a new dimension in music, he has in fact brought us the music of the spheres."
Artists that I have performed with include Natalie Cole, Aretha Franklin, Led Zeppelin, Harry Connick Jr, Smokey Robinson, Kenny Loggins, and Diana Krall.
My students have been winners in the Marin Music Chest competition, and they have performed as soloists with the Marin Symphony Youth Orchestra. Upon graduating my serious students have received full music scholarships to Northwestern University, UCLA, and Yale.
