My Approach
I recommend starting violin students at the age of six. Being versed in many different performance styles and aware of the benefits that come from violin study, I work with each student to facilitate their goals and needs. Students begin learning repertoire immediately. I focus on sight reading, ensemble performance, and building a good technical foundation that will last. My belief is the violin is a social instrument. Students thrive when they share music with others. My intermediate students play in the Overture and Crescendo programs and perform in the Marin Symphony Youth Orchestra. Advanced students study the great violin repertoire at a level required in major music conservatories. I encourage advanced students to perform their own recitals, enter music competitions, and give back to the community by performing in community outreach programs.
